Holding the differential still is about predictability. Rubber that is too soft lets it twist and move as load comes on and off, so the car squats and lurches a little more than it needs to. A firmer mount keeps it where it should be. The polyurethane used here deflects much less than the original rubber under the same load. This version is an insert design, made to fit into the voids of the original bushing instead of replacing the whole mount.
