Fitted to the 1987-1990 Mazda RX-7 GXL 2+2: the Whiteline Front Control Arm Lower Inner Front Bushing. Part number W51961. Chassis code: FC. Position: front. Trim named on the listing: GXL 2+2. The kit contains 4 bushings and 2 tubes.
Every time the wheel moves, the control arm swings on its bushings. When they are soft or worn, the arm shifts under load, the alignment changes as the car moves, and steering and braking feel less precise. A stiffer bushing cuts that unwanted movement while still letting the arm pivot freely. The polyurethane used here deflects much less than the original rubber under the same load.
Installation is rated difficult, with about 2.5 hours of work listed. Plan on a wheel alignment afterward. To go with it on the RX-7, see 12mm Adjustable Front Camber Bolts, Tie Rod Boot Kit, and Rear Upper Outer Control Arm Bushing Kit.
