With the Bilstein B16 kit the 2008-2013 BMW 135i (E82/E88) adjusts in two directions: how low it sits, and how firmly it is damped. Set it soft for the road, wind it up for a session.
Inside is Bilstein”s monotube design, with the gas and oil separated by a floating piston. That keeps damping consistent when the road turns rough and the unit gets hot, where a lesser damper would go soft.
